Laura is an artist and art therapist who resides in the St. Louis metro east.  Laura studied photography and digital arts at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), obtaining her BFA in 2008. After moving to Portland, OR and developing a passion for building community and connections through artwork, she returned to SIUE to attend the art therapy counseling program, graduating in 2014. Laura now is an art therapist working with preadolescent children in a residential treatment setting. She is currently working toward obtaining her ATR and LCPC in Illinois. Laura continues to create art for her personal fulfillment and growth. She is interested in the potential for community building and shared experiences through new media and augmented reality. In her down time Laura enjoys reading comic books, watching hockey, and playing with her dog, Oso.
